Thanksgiving Travel Tips

A few more Thanksgiving Travel Tips to get you safely down the road or in the sky!

If traveling by car, or maybe just driving a few hours to the airport, keep the following in mind!

Prepare your vehicle for long distance travel. Check wipers and all fluids. Have the radiator and cooling system serviced. An oil change and fluids topped off before your trip, can spare you hours stuck on the side of the road later!

Use a map or GPS! Even if you are driving the familiar road to grandmother’s house, take a map or GPS unit with you. Construction, road changes, or bad weather can cause a route change. Know where you are going, and have a map in case of unexpected changes.

Keep an emergency kit in the car. Contents should include: battery powered radio, blanket, jumper cables, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, bottled water, non-perishable foods, maps, tire repair kit and flares.
