American Airlines Limiting Passengers on Some Planes

aa_logoAmerican Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner said that the airline will be reducing the number of passengers to 228 people in its Boeing 767-300s, though the airline can hold upto 236 passengers. Wagner said that the airline is acting to make sure it complied with Federal Aviation Administration rules on raft capacity.

The FAA requires that planes flying over large bodies of water have enough room on life rafts for everyone on board. Wagner also said that it would take about a month to get additional life rafts, till then the airline will limit the number of seats it sells on the planes.
